The Japan Foundation Manila, invites Filipino Japanese-language tutors to on-the-job training of an ongoing Japanese-Language Course for JPEPA Nurse & Care Worker Candidates (Batch 15 Latter Term).
◎ Features of the course
About the Preparatory Japanese Language Training Program
This intensive Japanese course is for nurse & care worker candidates who will work in Japan under the Japan-Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA). It is designed for the purpose of training candidates to use Japanese language, learn culture, social differences, and so on before they are deployed at respective hospitals and caregiving facilities in Japan.
About the On-the-Job Training
We look forward to receiving applications from those who are interested in the JPEPA program and those who aim to become lecturers of the next batch of the JPEPA program.
This training has two parts to help tutors learn teaching skills and class management.
Part 1.
・Class Observation (Face to Face) and Discussion (Face to Face/ Online)
Tutors will observe classes handled by a Filipino senior lecturer, then will have a discussion with a Japanese advisor. Participation is OPTIONAL. NO compensation will be paid.
・Workshop for Lesson Plan and Study Material Making (Face to Face/ Online)
Tutors will learn how to make lesson plans and study materials. A Japanese advisor will conduct this workshop. Participation is OPTIONAL. NO compensation will be paid.
Part 2. OJT
・Plus 3 with Teacher Class (Face to Face)
Tutors will be asked to assist with the lessons under the supervision of Japanese advisors and senior Filipino lecturers. Compensation will be paid.
・Plus 3 Class (Face to Face)
Tutors will be asked to tutor during candidates’ autonomous study sessions. Compensation will be paid.
※For Part 2 OJT, tutors will be asked by Japanese advisors and/or senior Filipino lecturers to do tasks such as class preparation, progress checking, etc.
◎ We Require a Tutor to be:
■ Cooperative – a tutor who can work with Japanese and other Filipino lecturers/tutors as a team.
■ Flexible – a tutor who can respond accordingly to the Japanese advisors’ and Filipino lecturers’ instructions.
■ Adaptable – a tutor willing to learn new and different teaching methods.
◎ Required Skills:
■ Nihongo Proficiency – JLPT N1, N2, or N3 passers can apply.
■ Basic IT Skills — Zoom, etc.

Period of OJT Program
・Orientation: 3 April 2023
・OJT Program: From 11 April 2023 to 26 May 2023
※Required attending days for the training program: A total of 5 – 8 days during the training period.

・Once or Twice a week ( Monday to Friday )
Training Hours
Part 1. (Optional & Not paid)
・8:00am to 11:50am (50min × 2 to 4 sessions)
Part 2. (Compulsory & Paid)
・1:00pm to 3:50pm (50min × 3 sessions)
Compensation
・ Less than 3 years of Japanese-language teaching experience : 200 pesos/hour
Note: We also welcome non-experienced applicants.
・ 3 years or more Japanese-language teaching experience: 250 pesos/hour
Payment Due
・Standard pay scale of The Japan Foundation, Manila
