JAPAN FOR ME x SUKi OPEN CALL for graphic designs and illustrations

JFM is now accepting submissions of Graphic Designs and Illustrations for SUKI with the theme “Japanese & Philippine Friendship in the next century.” 

2023 saw the commemoration of 50 years of Japan and ASEAN friendship. In that span of time, many aspects of culture have been shared between Japan and the Philippines, in art, music, film, food, and many more. Through graphic design and illustration, we would like to see your vision of Japanese and Philippine friendship for the future years to come. 

This contest is open to all Filipinos residing in the Philippines or Japan. Selected submissions will be published in SUKI, the official magazine of JFM, both on-line, in print, and social media.  A token of P3,000.00 will also be given. 

Eligibility and Restrictions 

  • All entries must adhere to the theme 
  • All entries must be original, previously unpublished, and all rights owned by the applicant 
  • All entries must include a foreword explaining the thought behind the design 
  • Dimensions should be 21.5 x 27.5 cm at 300DPI for portrait and 43 x 27.5 cm 300DPI for landscape 
  • There is no limit to the number of entries per participant 
  • Winning participants must allow JFM use of all submitted material (owners will be credited accordingly)

Criteria for Selection 

  • Communicative quality 
  • Composition and visual impact 
  • Creativity and originality 
  • Adherence to the theme 

Submission Guidelines 

  • Please send all entries to miguel@jpf.go.jp
  • Submission deadline extended until 10 March 2024, Sunday at 11:59PM
  • Winners will be notified via email on or before 15 March 2024   

Prizes and Tokens 

  • The winners will be given P3,000.00 per chosen work 
  • JFM Merchandise 
  • Chosen entries will be published on SUKI both on-line, in print 
  • Select entries will also be featured on JFM social media
