Title: Program Coordinator [Arts & Culture – Film]
Contract: Contractual (1 year) with possible renewal subject to the mutual agreement of the parties.
Main Purpose of Job:
To provide support for the Arts and Culture projects, mainly for the Japanese Film Festival and other films projects, which will be carried out under the initiative of Japan Foundation. To provide support for project implementation and assessment, research, and program design/development.
The Japanese Film Festival (JFF), which had been previously known as EIGASAI in the Philippines, is a project held by the Japan Foundation to promote Japanese film around the world. With a slogan of ‘Japanese Film Anytime, Anywhere,’ the program was rebranded in 2016 and newly launched for 10 ASEAN countries and Australia. We continued holding the festivals with the latest Japanese films while expanding our network to include countries like China, Russia, and India. In the year 2023-24, we held festivals in 56 cities in 12 countries, watched by more than 200,000 viewers (In the Philippines alone, the JFF has attracted more than 40,000 audiences this year). We will continue sharing the excellence of Japanese film with the world.
Responsibilities:
- Implementation
- Assist in smooth and efficient arrangement in implementing a project which includes coordination with various stakeholders.
- Research and Program design and development
- Conduct field and literature research on the issues relevant to Arts and Culture which include attending seminars, the opening of exhibitions, performance/concerts conducted by local and international organizations. Based on the outcome and observation/evaluation of the research and/or instruction from supervisor(s), prepare a project proposal and develop the framework in consultation with supervisor(s).
- Assessment
- Prepare an assessment report of each project implemented.

Salary and Benefits:
- The salary will be decided based on the qualifications of a successful candidate.

Remarks:
- JFM is currently operating in a hybrid work arrangement (commute to the office three days and work from home two days a week). This arrangement may change depending on the office protocols.
