Job Description
Title: Japanese-Language Lecturer [JFT-Basic Section]
Contract: Contractual until March 31, 2024, with possible renewal subject to mutual agreement of both parties.
JFM is recruiting one Japanese-Language Lecturer in the field of Japanese-Language Education. The Japanese-Language Lecturer will be assigned to the JFT-Basic Team and be tasked to plan, implement, and monitor Nihongo teacher capacity development activities conducted by the JFT-Basic Team.
The JFT-Basic Team supports Japanese language education for those who wish to work in Japan under the Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) visa and disseminates information regarding the JFT-Basic and its corresponding learning material, Irodori: Japanese for Life in Japan.
The expected tasks of the Japanese-Language Lecturer include:
• Work closely with other JFT-Basic team members in the planning, implementing and monitoring of training seminars and workshops for Nihongo teachers;
• Provide feedback and advice on practice lessons or training sessions by Nihongo teachers;
• Manage a database for activity attendees;
• Participate in Nihongo school visits and provide advice on how to use Irodori;
• Prepare post activity reports;
• Participate in capacity building and network activities of Nihongo teachers conducted by other JFM teams in the field of Japanese Language Education, such as Sensei no Wa(Teachers’ Circle), the annual Nihongo Fiesta, and the bi-annual Philippine Nihongo Teachers’ Forum (PNTF); and
• Engage in other services incidental to program operations of the JFT-Basic Team.

Remarks:
• JFM is currently operating in a hybrid work arrangement (commute to the office three days and work from home two days a week). This arrangement may change depending on the office protocols.
•The Japanese-Language Lecturer may be asked to join overnight business trips outside Metro Manila and to work over the weekend during special events such as weekend training and seminars.
•The term of the initial contract will be until 31 March 2024. Based on mutual agreement, the contact can be extended on a yearly basis.
