[Job Description]
JFM is recruiting one Program Coordinator / Training Facilitator in the field of Japanese-Language Education. The Program Coordinator / Training Facilitator will be assigned to the JFT-Basic Team and be tasked to plan, implement, and follow-up Nihongo teacher capacity development activities conducted by the team. The JFT-Basic Team supports Japanese language education for those who wish to work in Japan under the Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) visa and disseminates information regarding the JFT-Basic and its corresponding learning material, Irodori: Japanese for Life in Japan.
The expected tasks include:
1) Work closely with other JFT-Basic team members in the planning and implementing of training seminars for Nihongo teachers;
- In the seminars, the Program Coordinator / Training Facilitator, together with a team of Japanese language teachers, will promote Irodori: Japanese for Life in Japan. The seminar will cover the concept and philosophy behind the learner-centered teaching methodologies and teach how to utilize Irodori to participating Japanese language teacher.
2) Participate in Nihongo school visits and provide advice on how to use Irodori; and
3) Strengthen the network of Nihongo teachers.
- The Program Coordinator / Training Facilitator will conduct follow-ups on Nihongo teachers who participated in the seminars or met through school visits and other JFM related activities to ensure that Japanese language related information (e.g., upcoming events or new learning materials) is efficiently passed on to them. As a Filipino educator, he/she will support other Filipino teachers and learners to connect with each other.
Specifications:
- Preferred Experinces : i) Language teaching experience (it does not have to be Nihongo.); ii) Curriculum Vitae (with a profile picture taken within 6 months)
- Preferred Personality Traits/skills: i) Team-player, ii) Passion for enhancing the skills and knowledge of Filipino Nihongo teachers, iii) Strong planning and organizational skills; detail oriented
- Nihongo Proficiency: CEFR A2 Level /JLPT N4
- PC Skills: Basic level in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Remarks:
• JFM is currently operating in a hybrid work arrangement (commute to the office three days and work from home two days a week). This arrangement may change depending on the office protocols.
•The Program Coordinator / Training Facilitator may be asked to join overnight business trips outside Metro Manila and to work over the weekend during special events such as weekend training and seminars.
•The term of the initial contract will be until 31 March 2024. Based on mutual agreement, the contact can be extended on a yearly basis.
