OPENING CEREMONY -5 November 2024: JAPANESE LANGUAGE TRAINING PROGRAM FOR NURSE AND CERTIFIED CARE WORKER CANDIDATES (Japan – Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement)

The Japan Foundation, Manila (JFM) announces the conduct of the program “Preparatory Japanese-Language Training for the Filipino Candidates of Nurses and Certified Care Workers” under the Japan – Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA). The 17th batch training will start with 240 (provisional) candidates which consists of nurse candidates and certified care worker candidates. The training will be held online by 2 organizations; the Japan Foundation, Manila and the Nihongo Center Foundation Inc. (NCF, Manila). The program will be for six (6) months – until 22 May 2025.

The objectives of the training program are to have the candidates obtain the basic knowledge and usage of Japanese language and study specific vocabulary and essential expressions for nursing and care-taking / care-giving. In addition, the candidates will be given lectures on Japan – general life and culture, and will further learn how to acquire the habit of autonomous learning so that they can continue to study the Japanese language beyond the program.

Upon the completion of the 6-month training program in the Philippines, the candidates will undergo another 6-months of training program on the Japanese language training in Japan. Thereafter, they will be assigned to hospitals and caregiving facilities spread all over Japan, and building up on their experiences, they will take the national examination for nurse or certified care worker in Japan.

To mark and celebrate the occasion, the opening ceremony will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday -5 November 2024 online. Kindly inform us (jfepa.ph@jpf.go.jp) of your attendance. We will share the zoom detail.
