日本語:日本の文化・事情を教えるときの大切なヒント
Important things when teaching Japanese Culture

by Ms. Marie Dominique E. Licup (Miriam College High School)

Teaching Japanese culture is as important as teaching its grammar. Several use authentic teaching materials as examples to teach culture, but how effective is it? Aside from that, the comparison between two cultures often lead to lowering the view on one culture, but highly regarding the other. What should be done to prevent this, and the students’ stereotypical understanding of Japanese culture? In this session, discover how to avoid these misconceptions and the important points that make teaching Japanese culture more meaningful to the students.
