Japanese Listening Comprehension for Non-native Teachers
by Ms. Sanae Nakatsuka 中塚早苗(Assistant Japanese Language Education Adviser, The Japan Foundation, Manila)
What is the most difficult skill in terms of learning Nihongo?
In an environment where exposure to “raw Nihongo” is minimal, there seems to be a lot of students and teachers who find聴解(Listening Comprehension) very difficult.
For this session of Sensei no Wa, we will be introducing points for teaching listening comprehension, references and materials to be used and how to effectively assimilate them into one’s lesson.
Let’s discuss and share our ideas, and try to make use of readily-applicable activities to make our Nihongo classes more exciting!
