Talk and Workshop on Japanese Plastic Model Culture
with Prof. Masayuki Haga
29 OCTOBER 2022 | 1:30PM (PHT)
The Brickyard, Glorietta 2, Makati
One of Japan’s world-class toy industries is Plastic Models. Models, which are commonly considered as a ‘hobbyist’ culture, have been linked to Japanese anime and manga, sparking a global boom in the likes of Mini 4WD and Gunpla, and have captivated a large number of fans in the Philippines. Following the pandemic, there is currently a new plastic model boom in which parents who were previously enthusiastic about plastic models can enjoy them with their children. The hybrid event will highlight the history of plastic models in Japan as well as the spread of plastic models in the Philippines.
