NIHONGO FIESTA (Online) 2022

49th Nihongo Speech Contest (Saturday, 19 February 2022)
Students, Professionals and other Non-students

The Japan Foundation, Manila (JFM) in pursuit of its objective of promoting cultural exchange through Japanese Language Education in the Philippines, announces the
Nihongo Speech Contest 2022 to be held on Saturday, 19 February via ONLINE. The speech contest, now in its 49th year, is one of the major events of the 16th Nihongo Fiesta (Online) which will feature live performances and various events for those engaged in Japanese language Education. 

-The Nihongo Speech Contest is an ideal platform for Filipino students and professionals to demonstrate their linguistic skills through articulating an original composition written by themselves on a theme of their choice. It continues to attract high-caliber contestants from the country’s numerous language institutes, colleges/universities, and other organizations offering Japanese language courses. 

The Grand Champion Award winner will take part in an all-expense-paid week-long study tour in Japan; all qualified contestants will receive consolation prizes. 

The deadline of the duly-accomplished Application Form, Japanese Manuscript with a recording of the speech (time limit – within 5 minutes) will be on Tuesday – 11 January 2022, for All applicants. 

The Pre-screening for Mindanao applicants is scheduled on Saturday PM – 22 January 2022. 

The Pre-screening for Luzon applicants is scheduled on Sunday AM – 23 January 2022. 

The Pre-screening for Visayas applicants is scheduled on Saturday PM – 5 February 2022.
