“Media/Art Kitchen – Reality Distortion Field”, a unique project combined exhibition, lab and workshop of media arts from Japan and ASEAN which was held by the Japan Foundation in Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila and Bangkok from 2013 to early 2014, is now traveling to Japan.
As part of a year-long celebration of the 40th year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation, the project was conceptualized and developed by 13 curators from Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam, and a total of 71 artists have participated.
To conclude the successful travel and development from Jakarta to Bangkok, the project finally landed in Japan – Yamaguchi and Aomori. From the Philippines, Renan Ortiz (Drawing Room) with his work “Murmur” will join the exhibition in Aomori which opens on July 26.
