Job Description

Title: Program Coordinator for NIHONGO Partners Team
Employment Type: Contractual, with possible renewal subject to mutual agreement of both parties

 

Position Overview

The Program Coordinator will support the implementation of Japanese language education programs under the NIHONGO Partners (NP) Team. The role involves program coordination, logistics management, and administrative support.

The NIHONGO Partners Program dispatches individuals from Japan to assist Japanese language teachers in Asia while fostering cultural exchange.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage program logistics, including accommodation, training, and participant support
  • Design and administer surveys and handle program-related inquiries
  • Promote Japan Foundation learning resources and activities
  • Support operations of the NIHONGO Partners Program and related initiatives
  • Assist with programs under the Course on Japan for High School Classroom Instructions (CJH), including training and events

 

Candidate Qualifications: 

Preferred Academic Background
  • Degree in Language Education, Linguistics, Communication, or related field
Professional Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience
Language Proficiency
  • Japanese proficiency at JF Standard A2 / JLPT N4 level or higher
Technical Skills
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Competencies:
  • Prior teaching experience is an advantage.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset
  • Strong interest in Nihongo and Japanese language education
  • Excellent organizational, coordination, and time management skills
  • Detail-oriented, especially in documentation and reporting
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, resourceful, and solution-oriented
  • Professional, patient, and culturally sensitive

  Salary and Benefits: 

  • The salary will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
  • Basic benefits will be provided in accordance with the provisions of the Labor Code of the Philippines.

Remarks:

  • Work Arrangement: JFM currently operates under a hybrid work arrangement, requiring employees to report to the office three (3) days per week and work remotely for the remaining two (2) days. This arrangement may be adjusted in accordance with prevailing office protocols.
  • Travel and Schedule Requirements: The Program Coordinator may be required to participate in overnight business trips outside Metro Manila and to work on weekends during special events, including but not limited to training sessions and seminars.
  • Contract Duration: The initial contract shall cover a six (6)-month probationary period commencing on the date of contract signing. Subject to mutual agreement, the contract may thereafter be renewed on an annual basis.
