Job Description

 

Title: Program Coordinator for Arts and Culture
Employment Type: Contractual, with possible renewal subject to mutual agreement of both parties

 

JFM is seeking a dynamic Program Coordinator to lead initiatives in the field of Arts and Culture. This role entails overseeing the planning, implementation, and logistical coordination of various projects under the Arts and Culture Program. The Program Coordinator will also provide integral support to the team and contribute to the program’s ongoing development and success.

 

The Program Coordinator is expected to:

  1. Provide comprehensive support for projects under the Arts and Culture Program, implemented through the Japan Foundation’s initiatives. This includes assisting with project execution and evaluation, contributing to research efforts, and participating in the design and development of new programs.
    1.  Implementation
      • Provide support for the smooth and efficient execution of projects, including coordinating and liaising with various stakeholders to ensure effective implementation.
    2. Research and Program design and development
      • Conduct fieldwork and literature research on key issues related to Arts and Culture, which may include attending seminars, exhibition openings, and performances organized by local and international institutions. Based on research findings, observations, and/or guidance from supervisor(s), develop project proposals and frameworks in close consultation with the supervisor(s)
    3. Assessment
      • Prepare comprehensive assessment reports for each implemented project, capturing outcomes, challenges, and key insights to inform future planning and improvements.

 

  1. Engage in activities and services that support and complement the day-to-day operations of the Arts and Culture Section and the PR Team, as needed..

 

Candidate Specifications: 

Preferred Academic Background • Degree in Arts and Culture, Communication, or other closely related disciplines.
Professional Experience • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience is required.

• Experience working in the Arts and Culture sector is highly desirable.

• Background in organizing public events (both onsite and online) and coordinating study tours.

Language Proficiency • Japanese language skills preferred but not required; JLPT N5 level or higher is a plus.
Technical Skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Traits and Interpersonal Skills • Proactive, efficient, and creative approach to work.

• Strong team collaboration and interpersonal skills.

• Deep interest in Japanese Arts and Culture, as well as familiarity with the Philippine cultural landscape.

• Exceptional planning and organizational abilities with strong attention to detail.

• Demonstrates patience and diplomacy in diverse professional settings.

 

 Salary and Benefits: 

  • The salary will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
  • Basic benefits will be provided in accordance with the provisions of the Labor Code of the Philippines.

 

Remarks:

  • JFM currently operates under a hybrid work arrangement, requiring employees to report to the office three days per week and work remotely on the remaining two. This setup may be adjusted depending on prevailing office protocols.
  • The Program Coordinator may be requested to join overnight business trips outside Metro Manila and to work on weekends during special events such as training sessions and seminars.
  • The initial contract will cover a three-month probationary period starting from the date of contract signing. Upon mutual agreement, the contract may be renewed on an annual basis.
