JFM is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Program Coordinator for Arts and Culture to support and implement initiatives under the Foundation’s Arts and Culture programs. This role is ideal for a highly organized professional with strong coordination and logistical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a genuine interest in arts and cultural exchange.
The Program Coordinator will play a key role in the planning, implementation, assessment, and ongoing development of programs, while providing essential operational support to the Arts and Culture team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Program Implementation and Coordination

- Provide comprehensive support to the planning and smooth execution of Arts and Culture projects implemented under the Japan Foundation’s initiatives.
- Coordinate and liaise with internal teams, partner organizations, artists, institutions, and other stakeholders to ensure effective and timely project implementation.
- Handle logistical coordination, including documentation, calculations, scheduling, and other related administrative requirements, with accuracy and attention to detail.
2. Research, Program Design, and Development

- Conduct fieldwork and literature-based research on key issues and trends related to Arts and Culture.
- Attend relevant seminars, exhibitions, performances, and cultural events organized by local and international institutions, as required.
- Contribute to the design and development of new programs by preparing project concepts, proposals, and frameworks based on research findings, observations, and guidance from supervisor(s).
- Collaborate closely with supervisor(s) and team members throughout the program development process.
3. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Assessment

- Prepare clear and comprehensive assessment and evaluation reports for implemented projects.
- Document outcomes, challenges, lessons learned, and key insights to support reporting requirements and inform future program planning and improvement.
4. Operational and Team Support

- Provide support for the day-to-day operations of the Arts and Culture Section.
- Assist the PR Team and other sections, as needed, to ensure smooth coordination and effective communication across programs and activities.
Candidate Specifications:
| Preferred Academic Background | Degree in Arts and Culture, Communication, or other closely related disciplines. |
| Professional Experience | Minimum of 3 years of professional experience is required.
Experience working in the Arts and Culture sector is highly desirable. Background in organizing public events (both onsite and online) and coordinating study tours. |
| Language Proficiency | Japanese language skills preferred but not required; JLPT N5 level or higher is a plus. |
| Technical Skills | Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). |
| Preferred Traits and Interpersonal Skills | Strong organizational, coordination, and logistical skills, with the ability to plan, track, and manage program-related tasks effectively.
Excellent attention to detail, particularly in documentation, reporting, and basic calculations. Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting and engage professionally with diverse stakeholders. Proactive, efficient, and creative approach to work, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrates patience, professionalism, and diplomacy when working in diverse cultural and professional contexts. Strong interest in arts, culture, and cultural exchange initiatives, with a deep appreciation of Japanese Arts and Culture. Familiarity with the Philippine cultural landscape and experience working with local cultural institutions, artists, or organizations is an advantage. |
Salary and Benefits:
- The salary will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
- Basic benefits will be provided in accordance with the provisions of the Labor Code of the Philippines.
Remarks:
- Work Arrangement: JFM currently operates under a hybrid work arrangement, requiring employees to report to the office three (3) days per week and work remotely for the remaining two (2) days. This arrangement may be adjusted in accordance with prevailing office protocols.
- Travel and Schedule Requirements: The Program Coordinator may be required to participate in overnight business trips outside Metro Manila and to work on weekends during special events, including but not limited to training sessions and seminars.
- Contract Duration: The initial contract shall cover a six (6)-month probationary period commencing on the date of contract signing. Subject to mutual agreement, the contract may thereafter be renewed on an annual basis.
