Job Description

 

Title: Program Coordinator for Arts and Culture (Visual Arts)
Contract: Contractual, with possible renewal subject to mutual agreement of both parties.

 

JFM is recruiting a program coordinator for the field of Arts and Culture. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for managing Arts and Culture projects particularly in the Visual Arts field. This role involves designing, monitoring, and handling the logistics of the Arts and Culture Program, while providing overall support to the team. *

 

The Program Coordinator is expected to:

  1. To provide support for the Arts and Culture projects, mainly in the field of Arts and Culture, which will be carried out under the initiative of the Japan Foundation. In particular, to provide support for project implementation and assessment, research, and program design/development.
    1.  Implementation
      • Assist in smooth and efficient coordination and arrangement in implementing a project which includes coordination with various stakeholders.
    2. Research and Program design and development
      • Conduct field and literature research on the issues relevant to Arts and Culture which include attending seminars, the opening of exhibitions, performances/concerts conducted by local and international organizations. Based on the outcome and observation/evaluation of the research and/or instruction from supervisor(s), prepare the project proposal and develop the framework in consultation with the supervisor(s).
    3. Assessment
      • Prepare assessment reports of each implemented project.
  2. Promote the Japan Foundation developed Nihongo learning materials and JFM events.
    • Facilitate the promotion of resources related to Arts and Culture and Japanese Language Education, including information about the JF Standard.

 

  1. Engage in other services incidental to the operations of the Arts and Culture Section and PR-Team.

 

Specifications: 

Preferred Academic Background ·       Arts and Culture, Communications, Fine Arts, and other closely related fields

 

Preferred Experiences ·       A minimum of 3 years of professional experience is required.

·       Preferably with work experience in the field of Arts and Culture, especially in the field of Visual Arts as well as Film and Performing Arts.

·       Previous experience in organizing public events (onsite/online) and study tour and editing publications.

·       Preferably with work experience in PR and social media, editing and graphic design.

Japanese Proficiency ·       Preferably but not required with JLPT N5 Level
PC skills ·       Basic/Advance level in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

·       Excellent English communication skills both written and oral.

·       Ability to work proactively, efficiently, and creatively.

·       Team-player

·       Passion for enhancing the skills and knowledge in Japanese Arts and Culture and adept in the Philippine Arts and Culture scene.

·       Strong planning and organizational skills; detail-oriented

·       Patience and a high degree of diplomacy

 

 Salary and Benefits: 

  • The salary will be decided based on the qualifications of a successful candidate.
  • The basic benefits will be provided as determined by the Labor Code of the Philippines.

 

Remarks: 

  • JFM currently operates in a hybrid work arrangement (commuting to the office three days and working from home twice a week). This arrangement may change depending on the office protocols.
  • The Program Coordinator may be asked to join overnight business trips outside Metro Manila and to work over the weekend during special events such as weekend training and seminars.
  • The initial contract will be for a 3-month probationary period from the contract signing. Based on mutual agreement, the contract can be extended on a yearly basis.
