The Japan Foundation, Manila (JFM) announces the conduct of the “Preparatory Japanese–Language Training for the Filipino Candidates of Nurses and Certified Care Workers” under the Japan – Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA). The 12th batch training will start with 341 (provisional) candidates which consists of 52 nurse candidates and 289 certified care worker candidates. The training will be held at two (2) different venues; the Language Skills Institute of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and the Nihongo Center Foundation Inc. (NCF, Manila). The program will be for six (6) months – until May 19, 2020 (Tuesday).
The objectives of the training program are to have the candidates obtain the basic knowledge and usage of Japanese language and study specific vocabulary and essential expressions for nursing and care-taking / care-giving. In addition, the candidates will be given lectures on Japan – general life culture; and, will further learn how to acquire the habit of autonomous learning so that they can continue to study the Japanese language beyond the program.
Upon the completion of the 6-month training program in the Philippines, the candidates will undergo another 6-month training program on the Japanese language in Japan. Thereafter, they will be assigned to hospitals and caregiving facilities spread all over Japan; and, building up on their experiences, they will take the national examination for nurse or certified care worker in Japan.
To mark and celebrate the occasion, the opening ceremony will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday – November 7 at the Central Building Auditorium of the TESDA, East Service Road, South Super Highway, Taguig City. It will also be held at the Nihongo Center Foundation Inc. at 3:00 p.m. on the same day at the President Jose P. Laurel Hall of the Philippines-Japan Friendship Center – Manila, R. Papa St., Sampaloc, Manila.
