Thank you to all teachers and aspiring teachers who participated and shared their ideas during the 35th Philippine Nihongo Teachers’ Forum 2022!
The 35th Philippine Nihongo Teachers’ Forum was conducted through Zoom on May 21, 2022.
Around 70 people attended the event, which was open to both seasoned and aspiring Nihongo teachers. The Japan Foundation Trivia Quiz provided participants with an enjoyable and educational experience. Afterwards, attendees listened to the JFM’s Reflective Practice Study Group’s experiences in observing other instructors’ classes, sharing feedback, and developing challenging action plans.
Then, participants were treated to an interactive presentation on Teacher Competences, which included tools and frameworks for self-assessment and development. Attendees then participated in a workshop and a sharing forum where they shared their ideas and opinions on the key resource: Activate Your Japanese!, Japan Foundation’s collaboration with NHK Educational Corporation.
At the conclusion of the forum, the participants were encouraged to identify the improvements they want to make in their teaching methods and how they will be able to initiate, monitor, and achieve the results.
Here are some takeaways from the forum.
