The Japan Foundation’s Nihongo Teacher Training Course：
“Sensei no Nihongo 3 (SN3) with Practice Teaching Course(PT)”
(SN3: Oct.8 - Dec.15, 2008) (PT: Feb - Mar., 2009)

The Japan Foundation, Manila in its continuing effort for the professional enrichment of Filipino Nihongo Teachers and for further encouragement of Japanese Language Education in the Philippines, will open on Wednesday, October 8, 2008, a course entitled “Sensei no Nihongo 3 with Practice Teaching Course”.

This course is open for active Nihongo teachers and for those who plan to become Nihongo teachers. Applicants are expected to have already mastered elementary level of Nihongo (JLPT level-3 or equivalent).

Sensei no Nihongo 3 covers the first half of the textbook, “J-Bridge”. Practice of JLPT levels 2&3 and cultural topics will also be included. It will be held every Monday and Wednesday (6:20 pm – 8:30 pm) from Oct. 8, 2008 to Dec. 15, 2008 at the Japan Foundation, Manila.

For the Practice Teaching course, participants will study basic techniques and exercise their teaching skills. It will be held from February to March 2009 at the Japan Foundation, Manila, the schedule of which will be decided by participants.

The course covers 56 hours. Tuition fee is P4,500.00 and covers the cost of handouts. (Those who have already taken up PT will pay only P2,500.00 for SN3; those who wish to take PT again may do so for the full tuition cost.)

As a privilege for enrollment, “J. Bridge” textbook will be given for free.

Application must be done by the submission of a duly accomplished application form together with the applicant’s curriculum vitae (in English). Deadline for application is on Tuesday, Sep. 30. There will be a qualifying level check (written test) on Wednesday, Oct. 1 (6:20 pm – 7:30 pm).
