Reading Comprehension: Know dokkai, teach dokkai
by Ms. Akiko Ishikawa石川晶子(EPA Team, The Japan Foundation, Manila)
Do you find it difficult to teach 読解/ dokkai (reading comprehension) at the beginner level?
It is better to study and practice reading comprehension starting from the beginner level.
Even at the beginner level, we can use magazines, time tables, articles from the internet and so on as teaching materials.
Rather than studying dokkai in a hurry right before taking the JLPT, let’s think of how we can allow beginner Japanese-language learners to study dokkai in a more comfortable and effortless way.
