The Japan Foundation, Manila is pleased to announce the annual celebration of the Philippines-Japan Friendship Month in Baguio from August 10 – 30 in different venues in Baguio and La Trinidad.
Under the theme “Your Whisper to Twinkling Stars”, a month-long celebration will kick-off with the opening ceremony of the Japanese Film Festival on August 10 at the FDCP Cinematheque Baguio. The festival at the Cinematheque runs from August 12 to 17 and admission is for free. The film festival features 9 Japanese contemporary films such as “ROBO-G” and “The Voices from the Distant Star”. The festival travels in different universities in Baguio and La Trinidad from August to September.
The celebration of the Philippines-Japan Friendship Month will be complimented by the Tanabata Festival (Star Festival) exhibition at the Baguio Museum from August 10 to 30.
The Philippines-Japan Friendship Month is organized by the Japan Foundation, Manila, the Embassy of Japan, Japanese Association in Northern Luzon, Inc., Japan International Cooperation Agency and Film Development Council of the Philippines, and with the generous support from the other educational and cultural institutions in Baguio.
